Welcome to the darkness. The veil between worlds grows thin as halloween approaches. The leaves seem to race from the branches dancing in the winds as they fall. Ivy is left behind, ever green.

The ivy along with all things hidden is exposed as leaves fall and decompose. The ivy strand of proud sister leaves, seem so harmless as they dangle like hearts or stars…until they find their root and grow. Strands of leaves, climbing up tress, buildings, cliffs. Their strong bond allows them to reach places that seemed impossible. The Ivy girl can take down the Oak king, because her roots and family ties are stronger than the winds that they catch tearing oaks by their roots. In the dark times we root ourselves in family so that when the sun returns, we can do anything. You are Sister.

Carnelian, a red orange stone, is a silica mineral. It has been worn since ancient times for healing, protection and strength. It is often mistaken with red agates. Since they are made from the same elements it seems the best way to tell them apart is that the agates have lines through them. Carnelian is more uniform in color. The red, of course, comes from hematite (iron oxide). The red made it a stone fit for a king. I am sure the fact that it helps with self esteem and creativity made all kings who wore it superior. Especially the female ones 😉
