Hello Friends,
Welcome to the first Sign of the Zodiac! The new celestial year begins in equality and balance. Equinox. When the day and the night are the same amount of time and we are just about to fall into Light!
Aries are Fire! They are loud, strong, proud, brave, and adventurous. Ready for anything and fired by a passion that leads them into battles and quest. Although Aries is ready for battle they are all about kindness. As a result, they are rarely without a friend. Someone to lead into battle and fight beside.
This time of year is unpredictable, creative, energetic and wild. If autumn equinox brings the veil to the departed thin, Spring equinox is when the veil between fairy is thin and perhaps this is to allow the fairies in. To wave their wands and spark life and beauty.
The Alder Moon is so full of new energy. My system gets so caught up and then can’t keep up! I love driving along the many waterways where I live and see the Alder trees with their new red purple growth. The new growth against the green firs makes me think of Alexandrite.
Alexandrite is known for its Pleochroism (changes color). Depending on the light it can be a red/purple shade or a green/teal shade! Stone Magic. Balance. Alexandrite was first discovered in the 19th century in Russia. Since then there have been 3 other locations in the world. It is extremely rare, hardness 8.5, and beautiful. It is said to allow love into even the most closed hearts. Its always changing colors are a perfect reminder that life is always changing and what is will not always be. The stone itself is CHRYSOBERYL.
Most of the Alexandrite found in retail is lab created. Honestly I am not sure I have ever seen a real Alexandrite gem. I did venture to Mottet Jewers in Shelton, WA and they were kind enough to let me see the lab created pieces for sale. Outside in the sunlight the stones were almost colorless in the green, while inside under artificial light they glowed more red. I have read in firelight the stone is even more transformed. Transformed by fire.
You are Fire. It warms you and thrills you and gives you the energy.
Moon Blessings
